We employ Montessori Guardians (Teachers) who are passionate about delivering a high standard of early years education. We seek individuals to join our team who have a compassionate approach and understand the importance of following a child’s natural rhythm and developmental progress. They are lateral thinkers who are team players in their own right.
The Guardians role in our Montessori Classroom is less directive than is customary in traditional schools. As our classroom is organised around the needs of the children, our Guardians are specially trained to become keen observers of children, so they understand the developmental needs of your child. Their role is that of a guide, a witness, and a caretaker of the environment.
On a daily basis our Guardians carefully prepare the classroom by providing stimulating objects and removing obstacles to learning. They sensitively plan for your child’s development and will give one-on-one presentations to your child, or work in a small group, and then step back to allow the child to pursue the work independently.
Our Guardians will continue to observe the children, helping them overcome difficulties and redirecting their interest when necessary.
“The greatest sign of success for a teacher… is to be able to say, ‘The children are now working as if I did not exist’.” Maria Montessori
