At Highgate Montessori children are encouraged to acquire positive attitudes and behaviours towards those with different cultural identities than their own and learn to embrace differences rather than fear them – thus growing up with understanding and respect.
Food is a wonderful way to introduce children to different cultures and develop positive perspectives.
Children from around the world may follow specific dietary habits and customs, and their families may exclude or prepare food in a particular way according to their religious or cultural beliefs.
Here at Highgate Montessori, it is hugely important to reflect cultural diversity within our immediate community and afar. So, Carole, Head of School, has been busy preparing the new menus and linking them to the different continents of the world.
From Monday 5th October, the children can expect a new ‘Around the World Lunch Menu’ to introduce them to different tastes and textures.

- Week 2 – African Food

There is an allergy document from the school cook for parents to complete and return which will be made available upon request.
