Here at Highgate Montessori, we pride ourselves on a strong partnership with parents. We regularly invite parents to join us for the end of term celebrations as well as other cultural highlights such as Diwali, Chinese New Year, Rosh Hashanah, Father’s Day and Mother’s Day.
As part of our long-running sound of the week feature on a Wednesday, we have compiled a phonics songbook with accompanying CD for parents to share with their child at home. Together they can learn the phonic songs ready for the following week at school.
Every week we send our much-loved bear, Paddington, home to spend the weekend with one of our children. Paddington has a case full of clothes and a diary to write all about his adventures in.
Every child has a classroom diary where our guardians write about your child’s time at Highgate Montessori. In the diary, you will find photographs and pieces of work created by your child. We encourage the children and parents to add to the diary with exciting developments achieved at home also documented.
To keep parents updated we send out a termly newsletter as well as a weekly update containing news and photographs.
Prior to starting with us, parents receive a comprehensive welcome pack containing all the important information about our school. Also, the chance to purchase a Montessori learning together book which gives a great introduction to the Montessori approach.

In addition, parents are invited in twice yearly to have an informal chat with regards to their child’s progress and on occasion, they are invited to the school to observe a session or join us for lunch.
